Childhood dreams and experiences

    Corpse hiding

I’m walking in the park that’s near the gran’s house. There are white marble statues everywhere, both whole and toppled and broken. In the secret corner behind the morgue there are some grapevines climbing the wall. They have big bunches of green grapes despite it being very early spring. There is a fallen marble column on the ground and I think I’ll sit there for a while, but I find a little dead girl behind it. She is about one year old, dressed in a pink snowsuit. There are no obvious injuries.

I feel panicky and try to think of someplace to hide the dead child. I don’t remember how I got her across the street to my house without anyone noticing, but at home I buried her in the huge ceramic planter under the myrtle bush. The rest of the dream was me panicking that somebody will find out.

    Additional comments:

Corpse hiding was a very persistent theme between 9 and 19 years of age. I don’t remember ever killing anyone in those dreams, the dead people were just dead without explanation or any obvious reason. These dreams were so many and so common that it’s impossible to remember all the methods I used to hide the dead folks. These were either very young girls that I usually buried or sank in rivers or lakes, and occasionally grown men that I was more creative in disposing of – entombing one in a brick wall and dropping another one from a bridge onto a passing freight train. Dead girl dreams were just sad, but dead man dreams had some feeling of schadenfreude and sense of ingenuity.

  • Giant sandbox

    Giant sandbox

It’s a sunny day. I’m in a sand quarry, but perceive it as a giant sandbox. I’m building a sandcastle with a big mouse helping me. There are lots more mice flying about in hot air balloons or airships.

    Additional comments:

The first dream I remember. The sandbox was probably inspired by the huge hole dug in front of our house for building another one. Rodents was a common theme in early childhood dreams. The dream actually occurred a few days/weeks before the date I’ve marked, but this was the day it got told to family friends at a name-day party, and they have never let me forget it. Later I received a few presents inspired by this dream – a blue dress with hot air balloon pattern and fabric for a dress with mice pattern that got made into a curtain instead.
